Mindful Act of Kindness – Bring Coffee for a Security Guard or Doorman

Mindful Act of Kindness - Bring Coffee for a Security Guard or Doorman

You probably pass by them all the time and barely notice. If you work or live at a place that has a security guard or doorman, show your thanks by bringing them a coffee or hot chocolate. If you never got a chance to learn their name, here’s your chance: “I haven’t had a chance to introduce myself. My name is John. What’s your name? Sam? Hi, Sam. Thought you might appreciate something hot to see you through your shift. Thanks for all your work.” See how easy that was? Plus, they might be willing to keep an eye out for a package for you next time you aren’t around to receive the delivery.

Mindful Act of Kindness – Tell Management About Great Wait Service

Mindful Act of Kindness - Tell Management About Great Wait Service

It’s easy to complain about horrible wait service. How often have you taken the time to complement your server? How about telling their boss? Take a brief moment and make a point to tell management about an exceptionally good wait server you’ve had. It will let the staff know it’s appreciated and just might reinforce that positive service.

Mindful Act of Kindness – Donate Crayons to the Child Life Department at a Hospital

Mindful Act of Kindness - Donate Crayons to the Child Life Department at a Hospital

Most big hospitals have a Child’s Life department. What’s that? When children have to stay at the hospital for an extended period the Child’s Life department works really hard to give those children a bit of normalcy. They also work with families who need special health support once they’ve left the hospital. They could always use a bit of help and support. So instead of throwing out those crayons, children’s books, and gently used toys, give your hospital a call and see if they have a Child’s Life department who could use your donation.
