About

When I leave this world I do not want to be remembered for the things I have achieved. I want to be remembered for the lives I have touched. For those lives will touch other lives and those yet others. That some person, hundreds to thousands of connections later will himself achieve something great gives me comfort. It gives me comfort that in the smallest of kindnesses I can set in motion events that will have a profound effect on someone else’s life who I might not ever know. That the many tiny acts of living my life each day with generosity and compassion will have a multiplicative effect that no single great, heroic act will ever achieve, gives my life meaning and allows me to repay all the blessings I have been given.

So it is that I start my One Life Can Project. One life, one single, seemingly insignificant, unremarkable existence is as much part of our collective human experience as any other. Each of us is inextricably woven into the fabric of humanity and each and every day brings us the opportunity to inspire greatness. One distant act of kindness from one stranger can teach the person who cures cancer, can inspire the person who ends childhood hunger, and can empower the person who ends extreme world poverty. I invite you to join me in the celebration of profound moments of inspiration, big and small. Be inspired by these stories. Share your own voice so that others may be inspired. As our stories grow come back and be surprised by the way your life has touched others. See how one life—yours—can change the world.
